The purpose of horticulture is to teach people more about plants, their culture, and their importance to the environment. Our mission is to enable others to improve the quality of their lives by enhancing their home and community environments through horticultural education and activities.
LOCAL FOODS LISTING
Purchasing local foods is fun and great for the community! Local foods can have fewer pesticides, but not always. The nice thing is that you can ask the growers how they raised their crops. Money stays local rather than leaving the state. There are many different ways to purchase local foods. Food can be purchased from a Farmers Market, a Farm Market, a Roadside Market, Community Supported Agriculture, Food Processing and Local Food Restaurants. I have provided information for these different type of businesses from within Auglaize County and surrounding counties. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Auglaize County OSU Extension Office at 419-910-6050.
